During the championship, a fan fell from the stands of the Monumental stadium and lost his life after hitting his head. According to reports in the Argentine daily Clarin, the fan allegedly climbed over a gate in the Sivori grandstand and threw himself into the void. Some chants from the crowd drew attention to the incident, leading to the interruption of the match in the 26th minute by decision of referee Fernando Rapallini, who informed the captains of the two teams. After the stadium speaker announced the incident, the crowd started to leave the Monumental stadium. The stadium cameras captured the incident, and the authorities are currently working to investigate the incident. River Plate expressed their condolences through their social profiles, also revealing the name of the deceased fan, Pablo Marcelo Serrano.
