PGA TOUR TO MAKE MAJOR ROUND TO FINAL ROUND OF TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP

The inclement weather at TPC River Highlands in Connecticut caused the PGA Tour to suspend the tour for a few hours. But with more bad weather on the way, the Travelers Championship could see another major change ahead of the final round.

According to David Dusek of Golfweek, the PGA Tour has a plan in place for how they'll handle Sunday depending on how the golfers finish out today's round. The PGA Tour has said that if everyone finishes today, golfers will compete in groups of three on Sunday, with first tee time at 6:50 a.m. and the final tee time at 11:15 with an expected finish of 4:15 p.m. ET.

"The PGA Tour just informed media at the @TravelersChamp that if play is competed on Saturday, golfers will play in 3s on Sunday with tee times starting at 6:50 and the last tee time being at 11:15. The anticipated finish of 4:15 PM. Afternoon storms are forecasted again," Dusek wrote.

But if weather keeps some groups from finishing on Saturday, those golfers will finish their respective third rounds early on Sunday morning with the final round beginning right afterwards.

"If there are a few groups on Saturday that don't finish Round 3, they will start early (6:40, 6:45?) and complete their round, then Round 4 will immediately begin."

A combination of lightning and tornado warnings forced the PGA Tour to suspend the competition for several hours.

As of writing, Sungjae Im is the clubhouse leader at 16-under through three rounds.
