OLD VIDEO OF RORY MCILROY, TONY FINAU GOING VIRAL DURING U.S. OPEN

Golf fans are keeping a close eye on this Saturday's pairing of Rory McIlroy and Tony Finau for more than one reason.

Of course, fans will be monitoring McIlroy and Finau since they're firmly in contention at the U.S. Open. As of this writing, they're currently two shots back of the leader, Ludvig Aberg.

Outside of the fact that McIlroy and Finau could claim a major championship this weekend, it's worth noting they've been friends since they were kids.

An old video of McIlroy and Finau talking about their friendship resurfaced on social media this Saturday.

"Back in Utah, it showed all the pairings and who was on each team. I looked at Rory's name and said, 'Rory McIlroy, that's a good friend.' I was telling my parents and they were like, 'Oh, yeah, I remember Rory.' I couldn't wait to see him," Finau said. "Right when I saw him at the hotel, I was hugging him, and we had a good time."

McIlroy, meanwhile, raved about the Finau family.

"It was really fun," McIlroy said. "They're a really fun family, and I had a really good experience with them that summer."

If this video doesn't warm your heart, we're not sure what will.

McIlroy is seeking his first major championship since 2014. Finau, on the other hand, is still searching for his first major championship.

The third round of the U.S. Open is being televised on NBC.
