PORTUGAL PLAYER RATINGS VS TURKEY: FROM SELFLESS TO SELFIES! CRISTIANO RONALDO TEES UP BRUNO FERNANDES & FIGHTS OFF PITCH INVADERS AS BERNARDO SILVA FINALLY BREAKS HIS EUROS DUCK

Still no goals for Cristiano Ronaldo at Euro 2024 but, in Portugal's impressive 3-0 win over Turkey on Saturday afternoon, he managed to squeeze in a selfie with a fan and pull off arguably the most surprising assist we've seen in Germany so far.

Bernardo Silva broke the deadlock with his first ever goal at a major international tournament - at the 15th attempt - before Samet Akaydin and Altay Bayindir combined for a comedy own goal to gift the Seleccao a two-goal lead just before the break.

Portugal then put the game to bed shortly after the restart when Cristiano Ronaldo showed his selfless side by teeing up Bruno Fernandes for a tap-in after a brilliant run in behind Turkey's dreadful defence.

Below, GOAL rates all of the Seleccao stars on show as Roberto Martinez's men made it two wins from two in Group F to seal their place in the last 16...

Goalkeeper & Defence

Diogo Costa (7/10):

Didn't have very much to do but made a great save with his right foot from Kerem Akturkoglu while Turkey were trying to get themselves back into the game.

Joao Cancelo (7/10):

Used in a more orthodox full-back role but that actually helped him contribute more to Portugal's build-up play as he created two chances. Also did just enough to prevent Kerem Akturkoglu from scoring early on.

Pepe (8/10):

Really hard to believe Pepe is 41! Another tremendous display from the veteran, featuring several timely interceptions, excellent distribution and typified by one thunderous tackle on Orkun Kokcu and a barnstorming break. Exited to a standing ovation from his compatriots in the crowd.

Ruben Dias (7/10):

Looked even more comfortable as part of a two-man central defence and, like Pepe, his passing was very good. He also broke out of defence at times to join attacks.

Nuno Mendes (7/10):

Did well against the Czechs but was much more effective in his preferred position of left-back. His cross led to Bernardo Silva breaking the deadlock, which once again showed his threat down the left-hand side.

Midfield

Bruno Fernandes (8/10):

Palhinha's inclusion in midfield gave him greater freedom to attack and he was far more menacing as a result. His goal may have been a tap-in but he wouldn't have been that far forward against the Czechs.

Joao Palhinha (6/10):

Wisely brought into the starting line-up as a specialist six was clearly needed against a strong Turkey team and he was playing the role perfectly, breaking up play as well as boasting 100% for pass completion, with 21 out of 21. But Martinez decided to take Palhinha off after seeing the midfielder booked by the card-happy referee just before the break for accidentally clipping an opponent.

Vitinha (7/10):

Not quite as eye-catching here as he was against the Czechs, when he was arguably Portugal's best player, but another dynamic display from the midfielder, who repeatedly won the ball back for his team.

Attack

Bernardo Silva (8/10):

Much more like it from the Manchester City man, who finally broke his major tournament duck by pouncing on Mendes' deflected cross. Wonderfully creative and excellent in possession, having been neither against the Czechs.

Cristiano Ronaldo (7/10):

No goals once again for the international game's all-time leading scorer - his timing is undoubtedly off, particularly in the air - but he led the line well. Bent his run brilliantly to beat the offside trap and then unselfishly squared for Bruno to score. Now has more assists than anyone in Euros history with seven - and even had time for a selfie, albeit after the first request he was getting understandably annoyed.

Rafael Leao (3/10):

Involved in the build-up to the opener but, like Palhinha, withdrawn at the break after once again picking up a booking for diving, which is just absolutely pathetic on Leao's part. Doesn't deserve to start against Georgia by any measure.

Subs & Goalkeeper

Pedro Neto (5/10):

Replaced Leao at half-time but didn't take the chance to impress. His final ball was repeatedly poor.

Ruben Neves (6/10):

Took over in midfield from Palhinha after the interval and did a decent job.

Nelson Semedo (N/A):

Came on at right-back for Cancelo in the final quarter.

Antonio Silva (N/A):

Introduced in place of Pepe with just over 10 minutes to go.

Joao Neves (N/A):

Only brought on in the dying minutes.

Roberto Martinez (7.5/10):

Portugal may have got a little lucky at times but Martinez deserves credit for rightly altering the make-up of his midfield after the poor performance against the Czechs. The defenders all looked more comfortable in a back four, while the team's attacking play was more cohesive and, thus, effective.
