NEWCASTLE'S BRUNO HINTS ABOUT HIS FUTURE WITH OFF-PITCH MOVE

Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes seems poised to continue his career at St James’ Park despite drawing interest from several top Premier League clubs.

Why do we know, you ask? Well, simply because the Brazilian magician has recently made a humongous commitment to the region by purchasing a £4 million residence in Daras Hall, Northumberland, which to most folks out there looks like a clear-cut indication of Bruno’s plans to stay in Tyneside.

Bruno, 26, has been a key figure for Newcastle since he arrived in town a little over two years ago in January 2022 when the Magpies snatched him from Ligue 1 Lyon. Since then, Bruno has appeared in 101 matches across all competitions.

His performances have nearly outgrown the pace of development experienced at NUFC since the takeover of PIF, which has only 1) endeared him to the fans more than he dreamed of and 2) also made him a target for major teams like Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain

The midfielder’s intentions, now more seriously, could be to stay mainly because of Newcastle’s late-season push toward clinching a place in the EPL table that grants the team access to continental competition in the 2024-25 season.

Last October, Guimaraes solidified his commitment by signing a new five-year contract, which might have been enough to show where his mind was... until we came to know that said deal includes a very affordable release clause set at £100 million that is chump change for the likes of PSG and Real Madrid.

“We never know what is going to happen,” Bruno said of late following a game by NUFC, although it’s fair to say that he’s found a new home (literally and figuratively) in Newcastle and his actions off the pitch as well as his interactions with media and fans have always suggested a strong inclination to stay.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has acknowledged that financial pressures might force the club to sell a key player to comply with Premier League financial rules, mainly one of Bruno, Alexander Isak, and Sven Botman.

However, Guimaraes’ recent investment in the area and his integral role at the club might see him remain a central figure in Howe’s squad and he might have ben informed about the club’s intention to keep him around at least for next season.
